Only one week after giving birth to my son, I decided to challenge myself with a study of logos. For 18 days I would create a logo from sketching to mock up.
I really felt like I learned a lot in these 18 days about what makes a good logo. As this project was completed before my son was one month old, I didn’t feel like I was able to give it my full attention. I had about 15 minutes for preproduction and 15 minutes for production.
If I were to recreate this experience now he is older, there is much more I would improve on. I talk in my case study of what makes a good logo design. One thing I have found since is creativity plays a big part. A logo should not always be the first thing that comes to mind, but rather an idea that has evolved into its most creative state. I would take more time, if I were to do this project again, to create many ideas for each logo and let the designs evolve into something better.
